AMD unveils Ryzen 7040U Series Mobile CPUs along with RDNA 3 Integrated Graphics for Ultra-Thin Devices.
In yet another announcement, AMD has just expanded its 7000 series mobile processors with the AMD Ryzen 7040U Series. The AMD Ryzen 7000 series mobile processors were first unveiled at the recently held CES 2023. They’ve now expanded the series to bring the power of RDNA 3 technology to ultra-thin devices. The U in AMD’s latest Ryzen 7040U series processors, stands for “ultra-low power”. Thus, AMD Ryzen 7040U series processors’ USP is the high graphics quality that it provides within the low power that it consumes. AMD claims it is “designed to deliver the longest possible time unplugged”.
The Ryzen 7040U series mobile processors are designed to provide “more graphics power than ever before”. This includes GPU frequencies of up to 700MHz or higher in Ryzen 5, an increased peak performance of up to 8.6 TFLOPS, as well as power efficiency via GPU and Display Controller.
The AMD Ryzen 7040U series packs in the power of AMD’s Zen 4 and RDNA 3 technology. These processors feature AMD’s latest graphics solution, Radeon 780M built in with the RDNA 3 technology. It ensures a minimum quality preset of 1920X1080 resolution.
Unified RDNA 3 Compute Units, new Radiance Display Engine (DP 2.1), new Dual Media Engine, enhanced Ray tracing acceleration are some of the added features included in the AMD Ryzen 7040U series mobile processors.
