Westcon-Comstor has taken a major step forward in its sustainability journey by independently disclosing its environmental impact to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for the first time. The global technology distributor received a B rating, recognizing its strong environmental management practices and commitment to sustainability.
CDP, a leading global non-profit, evaluates companies on their climate disclosures, awarding scores from A to D- based on transparency, environmental awareness, and action. Westcon-Comstor’s rating places it in the ‘management’ band, meaning it has effectively addressed its environmental impact and is implementing responsible sustainability practices.
“We are pleased with our initial B rating and will strive to make further improvements. CDP plays a crucial role in driving corporate climate action, and we’re proud to contribute to this mission.”
Kevin Brzezinski, Chief Sustainability Officer at Westcon-Comstor
The company performed particularly well in industry collaboration, emissions reporting, and environmental policies. This achievement builds on Westcon-Comstor’s broader goal of reaching net zero by 2050. In 2023, it became the first major global technology distributor to have its net zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). It has also made significant progress toward its goal of using 100% renewable electricity by 2030, increasing its renewable energy usage to 42%—up from 33% the previous year.
For Kevin Brzezinski, Chief Sustainability Officer at Westcon-Comstor, the company’s first independent CDP disclosure reflects its commitment to transparency and accountability. “As a business, we believe openness and transparency should be at the core of our sustainability strategy, which is why we chose to disclose our data to CDP independently for the first time,” he said. “We are pleased with our initial B rating and will strive to make further improvements. CDP plays a crucial role in driving corporate climate action, and we’re proud to contribute to this mission.”
With sustainability as a core focus, Westcon-Comstor continues to collaborate with partners and vendors to reduce its Scope 3 emissions and build a greener IT industry.
