TDRA successfully participated in IDEX and NAVDEX 2023

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) concluded its participation in the 30th edition of “IDEX” and “NAVDEX” exhibitions, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and with the participation of more than 1,300 companies and 65 new countries.

During its participation, TDRA showcased its latest systems, projects and initiatives in the field of frequency spectrum, which include the distribution and allocation of frequency spectrum for all radio services, coordination and protection of frequency spectrum by monitoring using the latest technologies. Moreover, TDRA showcased its latest adopted systems of frequency allocation, and the issuance of wireless authorizations and licenses for all radio services in the country. 

Commenting on the participation, H.E. Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, TDRA Director General said, “IDEX and NAVDEX represent a major global platform that brings together the most important companies operating in the military sector and displays the latest developments in the defense industries sector in terms of advanced and innovative technology and equipment, in addition to shedding light on the development of the national defense sector in the country. This event is also one of the major and distinguished global events hosted by the UAE on a regular basis, which reflects its reputation and position on the international arena.”

H.E. Al Mesmar added, “We were pleased to participate in this global platform that is being held in the UAE. We highlighted TDRA’s key role and responsibility for the telecommunications and digital transformation in general, and spectrum management in particular. It is known that the telecommunications sector today has become a major supporter of development in all sectors, including the military sector, which benefits from digital technologies.”

TDRA also presented the results of its experiments using the 6GHz band and 5G technologies in the field of the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and others. They have the responsibility for managing and regulating the frequency spectrum in the UAE, including distributing and allocating the frequency spectrum for all radio services, coordinating and protecting the frequency spectrum by monitoring using the latest devices and equipment, and representing the UAE in all international and regional forums related to the telecommunications sector.
