AMD has announced its new A620 chipset. It enables users to harness the power of the Ryzen 7000 Series processor lineup with the features and performance of the AM5 platform. The price starts from $85 USD.
The AMD A620 chipset is available from March 31 and will provide a streamlined, trusted platform with plenty of connectivity and bandwidth options. That includes options like DDR5 memory, AMD EXPO technology, one-click memory overclocking, and up to 32x PCIe 4.0 lanes to satisfy demanding home and office users.
With up to 32 PCIe 4.0 lanes and 4 DDR5 memory slots that can hold up to 128GB, the A620 can handle most user needs. It also features AMD’s Smart Access Memory technology, which boosts performance in memory-intensive games and applications. AMD A620 will ultimately make the AM5 platform for beginners even more attractive in terms of price and compete with the boards with B660 and B760 chipsets for Intel Raptor Lake. In particular, the combination of a B660 or B760 mainboard with a current Core i5 has so far been able to exploit the lower platform costs compared to an AM5 combo.
